Where Can American Citizens Travel Right Now?

Share

There’s good news for Americans eager to resume international travel. Several countries now allow U.S. citizens to visit. However, there may be restrictions, such as vaccination requirements. Here’s what you need to know about where Americans can travel right now.

COVID-19 is still around. Because the United States was one of the most impacted, American citizens were barred from traveling to several other countries. Now that travel restrictions have eased, there’s still some uncertainty. So it’s no surprise that many Americans ask themselves, “Where can I travel right now?” only to be confronted with uncertainty and anxiety.

Don’t give up if you’re an American who wants to travel internationally. You still have options. In general, if you can confirm your COVID-19 vaccinated and boosted status, you will have more possibilities.

Here’s everything you need to know about which nations welcome American visitors and any admission procedures.

Countries where Americans can travel right now

Several countries have been cautious of American passengers since the United States was one of the worst-affected countries by COVID-19. However, despite setbacks, “COVID-19 spikes,” and other setbacks, the United States has managed to vaccinate a substantial section of the population against COVID-19, opening up greater options for foreign travel.

The fact is that over 155 nations are currently allowing American visitors.

Many nations need confirmation of vaccination and/or verification of negative COVID-19 testing. The rules for when this test must be conducted vary by nation. However, most need an RT-PCR test. This test requires sending a nose swab to a lab for processing and does not provide immediate results. Plan appropriately, as the results of these tests might take several days to arrive.

Furthermore, since boosters are commonly available, several nations incorporate this into their definition of “completely vaccinated.” If a particular length of time has elapsed, this might signify that your initial doses are no longer adequate to qualify. This period is usually over 270 days or 9 months.
