1.    Kauai, Hawaii

Kids and grown-ups will enjoy a break at this picturesque island on the northernmost tip of Hawaii. Kauai is not as well-known as Honolulu and Oahu. Watching the sunset at Waimea Canyon, taking a train ride through the Kilohana Plantation, and boating on the Na Pali Coast are things everyone will enjoy. 2.    Boulder, Colorado

Breathe in the bracing mountain air in this scenic town surrounded by the Rockies. There’s plenty of things to do here for parents and children of all ages. Older children will enjoy hiking through the many beautiful trails here. At the same time, younger kids will love the innumerable diversions on Pearl Street. Also, Boulder is located within an hour of Denver and the Rocky Mountain National Park, making it the ideal starting point for day trips.
