Houston Tunes into ‘the Music of the Spheres’: Coldplay @ NRG Stadium

Houston, we DON’T have a problem! The post-pandemic schedule at NRG Stadium is packed, and there’s something for everyone. The Music of the Spheres Coldplay concert goes live in May 2022, and if you are headed that way, here’s all you need to know about the show.  

Coldplay’s last outing at the NRG Stadium was interrupted by Hurricane Harvey. For those who couldn’t experience the ‘Head Full of Dreams’ tour live in 2017, the British band is bringing ‘The Music of the Spheres’ to Houston in 2022.  

The US leg of the Music of the Spheres tour is off to a rocky start. The SoFi Stadium concerts are postponed, and a couple of other venues down the line have rescheduled dates. But everything’s going as planned for the Coldplay NRG Stadium concert 2022.

Coldplay Music of the Spheres Concert – Houston  

Coldplay is performing at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, on Sunday, 8 May 2022, from 7 pm. As per the initial schedule, the NRG Stadium concert would have been the tour’s third venue in the US. With the SoFi Stadium concerts postponed, the North American leg will kick off at Dallas’ Cotton Bowl Stadium. Houston is now the second stop, with no changes to the initially scheduled date.   

R&B star H.E.R is the supporting act for US concerts lined up for Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres 2022 tour. H.E.R will also perform at the NRG Stadium in May. Tickets for the Coldplay Houston concert are now on sale and available for purchase online.   

NRG Stadium Music of the Spheres Coldplay ticket cost 

Standard admission ticket rates range from $38 – $128, depending on the seating zone you choose. Platinum level tickets will cost you $225 – $350, while you’ll have to shell out $174 for the pit experience. VIP packages are also available for $450 – $700. Verified resale tickets for the Coldplay concert in Houston can cost up to $2600!

NRG Stadium – Event Parking & Directions  

NRG Stadium hosts events of all sizes and genres throughout the year. There are over 20K parking spots around the multi-purpose stadium to accommodate the rising demand. The stadium is a quick drive from downtown and nearby airports, encouraging visitors to arrive by car. However, Houston Metro is an excellent option if you prefer public transportation. Stadium/Astrodome station is on the Red Line.   

How to Reach – By Car  

NRG Stadium is located in the southern Inner Loop of the Interstate Loop 610, between Fannin Street and Kirby Street. Gate 9 is usually used for NTG Stadium events; it is at the corner of Westridge and Kirby.

NRG Stadium Parking   

Officially, there are eight parking lots around the NRG Stadium, including the massive Blue Lot and several smaller exclusive-access lots. The number of on-site parking spots is currently estimated at 26,283. However, not all of these spots are available for events. Designated lots and parking rates vary from event to event.

A special event rate is applicable for parking at NRG Stadium lots during the Coldplay Music of the Spheres concert in May 2022. You can expect to pay $20 at the gate. However, this rate could be altered without notice.
