The 4^th of July is a federal holiday. If July 4^th falls on a Saturday, the holiday is observed on Friday, July 3^rd. If July 4^th or Independence Day falls on a Sunday, like it is happening in 2022, it is celebrated on Monday, July 5^th. Schools and government offices will be closed on Monday, July 5^th this year.
