What are the current restrictions\u00a0on travel\u00a0to top countries?\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The State Department<\/span>‘<\/span>s\u00a0<\/span>level 4 ‘do not travel’ advisory<\/a><\/span>\u00a0recommending that United States citizens avoid any global travel still stands.\u00a0<\/span>While you can still travel into the United States, traveling out of it could be quite\u00a0<\/span>tricky<\/span>. A<\/span>s countries around the world seal their borders<\/span>, there<\/span>‘<\/span>s a strong possibility that you<\/span>\u00a0will get stuck\u00a0<\/span>if you are\u00a0<\/span>abroad<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>Here<\/span>‘<\/span>s a breakdown of travel restrictions to some of the countries and regions around the world.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Travel to Mexico\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

On May 19<\/span>th<\/span>, 2020, the U.S. and Mexico decided to extend\u00a0<\/span>restrictions barring nonessential travel across their shared borders until June 22nd<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>However, if\u00a0<\/span>you are a U.S. citizen in Mexico<\/a><\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0you can return home.\u00a0<\/span>Currently, international commercial flight options\u00a0<\/span>are available<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>from the U.S. to<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Mexico<\/span>\u00a0and vice versa<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>Mexico has implemented temperature-screening at most of its airports as well as the land border ports of entry. Travelers with high temperatures<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0and those who have traveled to high-risk areas<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0could be subject to additional screening measures.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Travel to Canada\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

U.S.-<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Canada\u00a0<\/span>border\u00a0<\/span>restrictions w<\/span>ill remain in place for another month starting from May 19th<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>Air Canada has suspended all flights between Canada and the U.S. till June 22<\/span>nd<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>Canada has also announced that\u00a0<\/span>all\u00a0<\/span>air travelers must\u00a0cover their mouth and nose<\/a><\/span>\u00a0with a non-medical face mask<\/span>\u00a0on all flights into and out of the country<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Travel to the U.K.\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The U.<\/span>\u00a0K<\/span>\u00a0has not yet closed its borders to flights from other countries\u00a0<\/span>during the coronavirus pandemic<\/span>. P<\/span>eople\u00a0<\/span>can\u00a0<\/span>enter the country l<\/span>egally<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0and passengers on\u00a0<\/span>the<\/span>\u00a0few flights into the country<\/span>\u00a0are being allowed in.\u00a0<\/span> On June 8th, there will be a mandatory 14-day quarantine for any person coming into the country.<\/span><\/p>\n

Travel to\u00a0other\u00a0European Countries\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

France<\/b><\/span> will not allow passengers from the non-Schengen Member States to enter <\/span>the country<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>This does not apply to nationals of EEA Member States, Switzerland, British passport-holders, those with French residence permits<\/span>, healthcare professionals<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0and coronavirus researchers.\u00a0<\/span>Germany<\/b><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>will also not allow passengers from the non-Schengen Member State<\/span>s.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Germany’s travel e<\/span>xemptions<\/span>\u00a0are<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>similar to those of France.\u00a0<\/span>Spain<\/b><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/b>has decided to restrict entry\u00a0<\/span>to m<\/span>ost foreigners at airports\u00a0<\/span>and seaports for 30 days<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0starting from March 22<\/span>nd, but is now extended until June 16th.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Italy<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/b>will heavily restrict travel into and within the country<\/span> at least till June 3<\/span>rd<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span> Sicily may be a place of interest come Fall, as the country is rumored to start subsidizing flights and hotel stays<\/a><\/span> for both international and domestic visitors.<\/span><\/p>\n

Travel to\u00a0Jamaica\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Jamaica has imposed travel restrictions on travelers from<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Germany, Spain, France<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>U<\/span>.<\/span>K<\/span>.,<\/span>\u00a0Italy,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Iran, China, South Korea<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>Singapore<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>The g<\/span>overnment\u00a0<\/span>will also require\u00a0<\/span>anyone arriving from countries\u00a0<\/span>with<\/span>\u00a0community spread to self-quarantine for 14 days<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Travel to China\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

On March 26<\/span>th<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0China bann<\/span>ed<\/span>\u00a0the entry of most foreign nationals to check the number of imported cases of coronavirus.<\/span>\u00a0D<\/span>iplomatic workers<\/span>\u00a0are excluded from this ban.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

When will international travel resume?\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

However, you look at it<\/span>;<\/span>\u00a0the fact is that\u00a0<\/span>tourism and business travel<\/span>\u00a0worldwide has\u00a0<\/span>most<\/span>ly come to a standstill because of the coronavirus pandemic. However, all may not be doom and gloom. <\/span>International travel may just be around the corner, with June being the earliest a handful of countries would open up for non-essential travels. This is the little tidbit of good news and hope for those of us desiring to travel as soon as possible.<\/span><\/p>\n
